The Challenge: Hose replacement planning and Survey
The time on Oil and Gas exploration support vessels is short. When there is a downtime for maintenance, time has to be well managed and delay costs are high.
Petrolatum tape, galvanic corrosion, Galling, among other terms, are not products or problems that we normally see in the industry, but they are very common in O&G.
During a stop for class renewal, it was necessary to do a crane hose change-out, but the question was: how much time do we need for this maintenance? And in a 15-day window, how much will it be possible to execute?
After the aboard Survey, we were able to create metrics and a plan for the execution of the work, which was carried out with an experienced external hose exchange team. Focused on exchanging hard-to-reach hoses, and with well-managed resources, the team executed the exchange of the planned hoses on time.
In addition to exchanging hoses, other Surveys were carried out on the same vessel, always looking for more practical solutions for maintenance stops.
